In Spring/Summer 2021, I was contracted by the owners of El Pinguino to design their branding, graphic design, and website.
El Pinguino was opened in November, 2021. Since opening, it's being featured in The Infatuation, Thrillist, and the New York Times.

VISUAL DIRECTION
El Pinguino's visual style combines the look and feel of a Spanish tapas bar with Greenpoint neighborhood charm. It's a mix of buttoned-up and down to earth, creating a perfect vibe for pre-dinner drinks or mid-week oysters.
Soft, sea foam colors combined with gentle sloping lines to evoke feelings of the sea. The touches of illustration are a nod to the vintage tins of conservas that line the walls behind the bar.
The bistro-like menu spans eight pages, encouraging guests to take their time, browse, and stay as long as they like.
- THE NEW YORK TIMES
"Conservas, Spanish tinned seafood, like mussels en escabeche and spiced mackerel fillets, are served, and there is also an assortment of small bites, including cured boquerones, anchovies, seasoned olives and anchovies skewered with olives and peppers. "
"This new Spanish seafood bar exudes 'check out my graphic design portfolio' Greenpoint charm."
